The ideal of service has the ability to remove the ego; it promotes love and affection; it takes one away from worldly attachments and puts one on the path of the Divine. It can give widespread pleasure and happiness for all mankind. In fact, service is the first step along the spiritual path, for "service to man is service to God." Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Ottawa initiated and provides the following services:

  • Narayana Seva: Feeding a vegetarian meal to approximately 350 poor people at the Shepherds of Good Hope on first Saturday of every month.
  • We Care We Share: Feeding poor at Ottawa Mission, Salvation Army and Women's Shelter on first Sunday of every month.

"Engage yourselves in service activity. Consider social service as service to God. This is the best way to earn God's Love. Love all and serve all. Your entire life will be sanctified thereby." – Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Narayan Seva

Narayana Seva is one of the best Seva for feeding the poor and hungry people, who have never had in their lives the joy of eating a full meal. This is not mere charity. It is offering gratitude to God for giving us chance to be of help to one’s fellow men, who are all God’s forms.

The Seva is performed every 1st Saturday of the month at the Shepherds of Good Hope 233, rue Murray Street, Ottawa ON K1N 5M9. Tel 613-789- 8210. Fax 613-789-0888. It starts at 8.30am and concludes by 1:00pm. Volunteers interested to participate in the Seva are requested to contact our service coordinator.

We Care We Share
